The Watchtower

A king bedroom with its own private terrace, crowned by a panoramic sea-view day bed where breakfast is best taken slowly. Its en-suite bathroom, with a freestanding soaking tub, is set within the villa’s old watchtower, once a lookout for pirate raids, today the quietest room in the house.
Antique rosewood furniture fills the room, paired with a headboard upholstered in fine velvet that recalls the silks once carried home from the East. A breakfast table and a mahogany tea table stand ready for slow mornings, while silk curtains and a crystal chandelier in the style of Marie Antoinette complete the room’s quiet opulence. Above it all hangs a gold leaf mirror, the very motif that later became the emblem of the villa itself.
Set on a double exposure with three windows open to the sea, the suite gives onto a private terrace with its own small breakfast table, and, higher still, an open terrace with a full 360 degree sweep of the coastline. The bathroom, carved from the old watchtower, looks out over the Conca dei Marini, Salerno, and Capri, its walls still marked by the narrow
loopholes once used by lookouts on guard. Inside, marble angels, a crystal chandelier, and an antique mirror carry the same old world elegance through to the very last detail.

A king or twin bedroom, tucked beneath a vaulted ceiling and dressed in soft stripes and gilded antiques, with sea views through the shuttered window and an en-suite bathroom with shower, flexible for couples or friends traveling together.
A Louis Philippe style wardrobe in mahogany stands against the wall, while the headboard is worked in gold leaf by Neapolitan hands, paired with an antique nineteenth-century Neapolitan chandelier. The armchairs,

The en-suite bathroom is cut directly from the rock, its shower opening onto a double view of the sea on one side and the mountain on the other.

A stone spiral staircase joins the two floors, leading up to a bed finished in gold leaf, the first thing guests see on waking as the sea comes into view at first light. Below, an eighteenth-century Venetian console, turned by skilled
hands into a bathroom washstand, presides over the lower level, set off by crystal chandeliers and silk curtains.
The Orangerie:

On the ground floor, two king/twin beds share a private bathroom with shower and direct access to the terrace. Perfect for up to four members of the same family, or for the group’s young adults. The room can also
be transformed into a day area, ideal for lunches or a quiet daily rest.
Boiserie panelling by local artisans lines the walls, recalling the orangeries of old France, beneath wrought iron chandeliers decorated with olive branches, the work of master craftsmen from Florence, and an eighteenthcentury cast iron side table. The two beds convert freely between a pair of doubles and four singles, both facing the sea, and the private bathroom carries the same spirit through in gold leaf mirrors and brass fittings.
The Pool House:

Where the villa gathers
The villa’s interiors are richly decorated, styled in a romantic and sophisticated way that softens the austerity of its fortified exterior. At their heart are the rooms where the day naturally comes together. All of the ground floor rooms have direct access to the Terrace of Lemons.
The Dining Room
An intimate room with a table that seats up to twelve, dressed beneath a barrel-vaulted ceiling and opening directly onto
the terrace. The table itself is an extendable piece in walnut, set beneath an antique nineteenth-century Neapolitan plate rack and lit by a brass candelabra.
The Sitting Room:
A cozy space with a plush, comfortable sofa dressed in damask and fringe, a decorative fireplace and a flat-screen TV. Venetian style sofas gather around the room’s original stone fireplace, still lit today
The Kitchen:
Fully appointed, the working heart of the house, its copper pans hung beneath a stone vault. The ancient stone vaults were deliberately left exposed in the recent restoration, and antique Neapolitan majolica tiles line the walls. A solid wood table, cut from one of the villa’s own antique doors, still stands in daily use, set with Vietri ceramic tableware.
The Event Space:
A room for celebration, overlooking the pool
Alongside the villa’s private rooms is a versatile event space overlooking the pool area, complete with a home theater and stereo system. It is a setting suited equally to an intimate ceremony, a private celebration, a corporate meeting, a wine tasting, or an evening of dancing.
The room opens in direct communication with the pool, and for larger occasions can extend into the Pool House, which converts for the day into an entrance hall and a sitting room with two sofas and two bathrooms. Independent access leads out to the pool and to the lawn beneath its bougainvillea arch.

The Professional Kitchen:
With a view, and ready for any occasion
A second kitchen, professionally equipped and facing the sea, built to serve the villa on every occasion. It can be given over to private events, or used exclusively by a private chef for cooking classes, or for lunches and dinners prepared and served in the villa, complete with its own outdoor wood-fired oven.
Six professional burners, a Carrara marble prep counter, a large fridge and freezer for professional storage, and an industrial dishwasher complete its working core. The sea view lends the same magic to cooking here as it does to dining, and just outside, the kitchen opens onto the Pine Garden, where basil and rosemary grow within easy reach for the pot.
The Terrace of Lemons:
Dining beneath the citrus, facing the sea
This terrace lies directly in front of the villa’s main body, its parapet wall still marked by the old loopholes described in the villa’s story. By day, deep sofas invite a slow rest in the shade of the lemon trees; by evening, a table set for dinner looks out to the sea, with a wood-fired oven and BBQ close at hand.
Sail awnings, rigged on antique lances set into the low parapet wall, shade the terrace through the day; the wall’s loopholes,
once cut to a man’s height, recall the house’s years as a working fortress. A raised dining area is set for sunset dinners facing the sea, beside a barbecue finished in antique Neapolitan style tiles. An old well, once used to draw water, now serves as a planter, and a covered portico at the entrance holds a nineteenth-century marble holy water font. From here, the terrace offers a spectacular view of the pine tree, the house’s own symbol.
The Terrace of the Pine:
Shade, and the song of cicadas
Standing guard over the villa, the centuries-old maritime pine casts a deep, cool shade over this terrace, framed by an arch of climbing roses and warmed by its own wood-fired oven. It is the coolest corner of the house, ideal for a fresh breakfast or a sea-view lunch, and a place to simply listen to the cicadas that live in its branches.
The terrace itself has been kept as natural as possible, floored in whitened wood that lets the light and the colors of the landscape stand out, and opens to a full 360 degree view of the sea in every direction. Around it, a garden holds a rose bed and flowers of every color, together with the Mediterranean’s own aromatic herbs, mint and rosemary among them.
A path runs the length of the terrace and leads down a flight of steps to a lower terraced level by the pool, passing among historic olive trees that further open the view to the sea, with Praiano’s white houses and the Faraglioni of Capri visible beyond.
The Garden of Olive Trees:
Terraced groves, and the villa’s own harvest
Directly in front of the fortified house’s main entrance, olive trees grow alongside the villa’s own organic vegetable garden, a living reminder that this was, and remains, a working estate.
Wrought iron railings encircle the garden, set with antique terracotta oil jars that once served the harvest and today simply stand as ornament against the sea, glimpsed between the olive trees. Tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchini and other typical produce of the Mediterranean coast grow in the vegetable garden, alongside a rose bed.
The space lends itself equally to long imperial tables for large ceremonies and to a quiet picnic among the garden’s own scents, held beneath the villa’s lemon grove, its trees close enough to pick from, with simple dishes prepared on site.

A panoramic infinity-edge swimming pool (12 x 5 x 2.2 m) with a whirlpool area, heated on request, complete with a sun deck, changing room and outdoor showers: the villa’s most photographed view.
This is where the essence of the villa is best lived, its edge dissolving into a view that reaches Praiano and the Faraglioni of Capri. A wood deck, kept true to the surrounding nature, carries the sun loungers, modern comfort set within an ancient space.
Just beside the pool, a lawn opens beneath an arch of bougainvillea, a seating area made for a quiet read among a thousand scents. Enclosed by wooden fences that put a hand back in touch with the land, this garden also offers the clearest view of the villa’s own defenses, its tall double walls still standing intact.

Tucked beneath a wisteria pergola, cool even in the height of summer, this corner of the villa holds a small bar for evening cocktails, an open-air shower facing the sea, and a sofa made for lingering long after the sun goes down. Come spring, the wisteria overhead blooms a soft pink.
A changing room and a minibar complete the space, ready for mixing a cocktail to carry straight down to the pool. After a day by the water, this is the place for a sea-view shower and a favorite drink, savored in the shade of the old wisteria.
